IOG is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to fulfill the role of Office Administrator/Bookkeeper at our Head Office in Campbell River. Reporting to the Office Manager, this role is multi-faceted and diverse, but will primarily focus on payroll administration and accounts payable processing in addition to general office reception and providing logistics support for our field crews in day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with administering payroll via bi-weekly timecard submissions and reporting,

  • Accurately post detailed vendor and subcontractor invoices for payment, including credit card expenses

  • Prepare and deliver weekly bank deposits,

  • Support managers and field crews with project logistics, including sourcing and securing accommodations, travel, and supplies ordering and prep,

  • Assist with preparation and monitoring of Receivables,

  • Assist with fleet maintenance, including scheduling and coordinating service appointments updating insurance, and record keeping,

  • General office administration and upkeep, including answering and fielding calls, responding to general inquiries, office supplies ordering, scheduling meetings and taking minutes,

  • Some evening/weekend communications required at times to support crew logistics,

  • Assist with new worker paperwork and orientations,

  • Track worker certifications and coordinate training where necessary.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Proficiency with MS Word and Excel

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Is flexible and adaptable to last-minute changes

  • Is an organized and motivated self-starter with good time management skills

  • Previous experience in a similar role is an asset

  • Experience with Sage 50 is an asset

  • Possesses a Class 5 driver’s license.

HILL CREW

IOG is seeking reliable and motivated individuals to fulfill the roles of HILL CREW on our team. Reporting to the Hill Crew Supervisor, these roles require hard-working, self-starting individuals who are interested in a unique opportunity to grow and develop with IOG.

Key Responsibilities

  • Marking logs to fly

  • Salvage Logging

  • Brushing out buried logs

  • Bucking and ripping logs as needed/where safe to do so

  • Maintaining company trucks, equipment, and tools

The Ideal Candidate (This may vary depending on the candidate):

  • Be an effective communicator

  • Be physically fit

  • Willing to work camp shifts

  • Have chainsaw training/experience in a coastal BC setting.

  • Holds a Class 5 driver’s license, Level 3 Industrial First Aid ticket, and Level 1 Occupational First Aid with a Transportation Endorsement.

Compensation:

Remuneration for this position is commensurate with experience, starting at $35/hourly.

The position is open until filled.
